A Floating City

One in a series of ommissioned artworks for a project that dealt with human adaption to an everchanging environment and its impact on the ocean, lead by Hannah Marlen Luebker. It is meant to be partially scientific and plausible, but also with a big dose of science fiction in it, to allow for more creative freedom.
This one deals with a rising ocean and subsequent loss of land, leading to cities being built on floating islands all over the world. In addition, the relentless pouring of resources of all kind into the sea has lead it to change colour and structure, which humanity now utilizes to grow plants on top of this now nutrious ocean.
